              Native Grass Mix

              NATIVE GRASS SEEDING INSTRUCTIONS

              Native Mix 1

              This mix creates a beautiful medium to tall grass prairie. These native grasses are deeply rooted, low maintenance and hardy. This mix does best in full sun and drier soils. During the fall and winter, these grasses will be a mix of red, gold, and purple.

              Ingredients:?Big Bluestem, Indiangrass, Little Bluestem, Sideoats Grama, Western Wheatgrass, Switchgrass, Native Mix 1 Plus includes our Midwest wildflower mix
              Planting Dates: Late spring to early summer. Dormant seeding after November 1.
              Seeding Depth:?Drilled at 1/4″-1/2″
              Package Size: 1 Acre and 1/2 Acre bags

              Native Mix 2

              This is a mixture of low to medium height warm-season prairie grasses. They can adapt to a wide range of soil types and climates but prefer full sun and drier areas. During the fall and winter, they turn red and golden brown.

              Ingredients: Little Bluestem, Sideoats Grama, Blue Grama, Buffalograss, Native Mix 2 Plus includes our Knee-Hi Wildflower Mix

              Native Prairie 7 with oats

              Miller’s Prairie 7 with oats is a mixture of both warm and cool-season native grasses. Oats are added to provide quick soil stabilization and acts as a nurse crop while the native grasses germinate. This combination provides season-long interest, excellent erosion control, and wildlife habitat. Establishment takes 2-3 years and will have a height of 3-7 feet.

              Miller’s Short 6 grass mix is ideal for low or tough to maintain areas. This mix includes both cool season introduced grasses and warm season natives grasses. Left unmowed this grass stand will become 12-36 inches tall and provides a natural native prairie look.
